ZeroHour: Revolution vs. realization ..............................................................................Revolution in its crude meaning is replacement of old system with fresh version that is in high demand. Normally it speaks about the change of political discourse through force, bloody protests by masses or prolonged anarchy and disorder. All the revolution has one thing in common…presence of workable ideology to unite the revolutionary forces to set a common ground against the existing system. Ideologies are there when we talk about two most famous revolution of previous century; I mean revolution of Iran and France. Revolution needs blood, courage and extra boldness as it is one to one battle against the incumbent forces those are presumed oppressive and brutal. Fortunately circumstances helped a lot to leap this. Contributing factors include Prevalent mistrust about regime among masses, an environment of gloom and doom, confused and blur image of state’s affairs, corruption and oppression, dominance of partial and partisan agendas and ideologies that is shrinking the space for fair play and piling of state’s resources into the pockets of few who have not stake in the affairs of masses. But the thing that makes the headline is the presence of vibrant personalities, situations and incidents those trigger the long developing storm into an unstoppable typhoon. The classical medium used to carry out this change is the youth mostly discontent of prevailing saga. As youth is less prudent, more active and bold and have an inherent zeal for change. They can overturn the fear of curfews and restrictions and can become the final battler of scary status quo. They are less disciplined and more energized the ideal demand to carry out a bloody change. In short discontented and educated youth remain pivotal to all revolutions happened in near future. Revolution in itself is an evolutionary process. It never happened in one go but developed itself in a long recurring incidences. It just enhances the speed of events from normal. A nation reaped the seeds of revolution when it consciously or unconsciously sprouted the hatred among people through the inequitable measures. Say it economic disparity, political disparity or matters of social healing restricted to a particular group, class or creed. When laws of state are not giving satisfaction to the people at large and the men who are custodians of laws are indulged in some petty affairs then it fueled the already present environment of dissatisfaction. Ideology of change gets momentum and if it persists for long then it is assisted by other contributing factors mentioned above. The wants of change, desires of replacement and dreams of fresh air overwhelmed the social fabrics in such intensity that old discourse it difficult to reserve space for himself. That is the exact moment when one bow of rebellion, one act of boldness and one array of dissents make the whole scene change. But before the final episode, nature gives one chance to avert the situation. That is stage of realization. Before the blood colored the land, before the youth staged the streets and before the people swayed the flag of rebellion, one chance is still there and that is axiom of realization. If Existing discourse sniffs the air of discontent, empathizes the marginalized and rejects the self-centered paradigm, comes out and embraces the demands, then revolution will take the way of constructive development and less destruction. That is the only positive aspect of looming bloody revolution. Unfortunately Pakistan is on the way of developing revolution. Many contributing factors are paving the way for revolution. But there are many hard nuts yet to crack. Like pre-dominant ethnic social fabric is bottleneck of emergence of common agenda for revolution, various connotations of revolution existing in polity ( Like revolution against feudal , exploiters, corrupt and inefficient regimes are propagated by different sections of political parties…….that is creating great problem for coherence in bringing revolution), A strong army and country’s nuclear image and functioning state’s institutions. But never forget we have also developed some realities those are the potent parameters of bringing a bloody revolutions like the prevailing corruption and economic disparity, inherit style of politics and declining trend of tolerance in society and most important of all is that we are country of predominant youth….an agent of change. Youth contributed nearly 60% of our population and so be careful while analyzing the recent events happening in middle east because you are also the land of vibrant medium of change.
